We at the Centre of Pendeen are very dedicated recyclers.
We always have a fantastic selection of second-hand hardback and paperback fiction and non-fiction books on sale at 50p. Children’s books are only 20p, so real pocket money prices. All our books can be browsed in the porch. Last year we sold well over 2500 books!
The money raised goes towards the running of The Centre. If you are turning out, please think of us and donate any unwanted books so that we can recycle them for someone else to enjoy.
Many thanks to the team of book-loving volunteers who look after the donated books and ensure that they are beautifully presented.
You can choose your books (or drop off your donated books) during The Centre opening hours.
We regularly hold big, community recycling events, with a theme, which run for a fortnight only. In recent times, we have held Bling and Buy (pre-loved jewellery), Kitchenalia (second-hand kitchen/cooking items) and Accessories to Go (nearly new handbags, scarves, hats shoes and umbrellas etc.).
Our latest ongoing community recycling, This and That, is open for business until further notice. Come and find a really fabulous bargain: lots of everything to choose from. We have crockery, pictures, cushions, ornaments, glassware, treen, pottery, jewellery, bedding, curtains, small tables, jigsaws, photo frames, games, hand crafted gifts and many, many other items.
The Centre would like to say a very big thank you to all of you who have so generously donated books and other items for us to recycle.
