Our Village Community Centre in West Cornwall gives a warm Cornish welcome to everyone. Whether you live locally, or are simply visiting the area, please drop in to see what services and activities are on offer. Its a great place for the community of Pendeen to meet for regular clubs, classes or special events.

The Centre is managed and staffed by volunteers, and is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am until 3.00pm for¬† internet access, photocopying, printing¬†etc, as well as a wide range of activities and clubs.¬†Tea and coffee¬†are available, as well as a friendly face on our reception desk! It’s¬†warm, as well as welcoming.

Our¬†Winter Fayre on 9th December¬†went very well. ¬†Carol singers from Pendeen Church added to the Christmas spirit and to the arrival of our favourite seasonal character… you guessed? Santa! Thanks go also to Roger Jess¬†of Shelterbox¬†for bringing along a box to show us and speaking to folk about their valuable work.

Hot soup served at lunchtime went down particularly well – thank you to Pauline and her team.

A huge thank you to all the helpers and to of course the traders for making the day run smoothly and the success it was. Merry Christmas!

Our AUTUMN FAYRE took place in September and we welcomed everyone in, out of the mist and rain. Workshops include ‘Going out with Dementia’ a talk by Marna from Dementia Friends about places to go and services available to family and carers in the Pendeen/St Just area. The display Marna used is still at the Centre for anyone who missed her workshop. Children activities and Competitions…the winner of ks1 colouring competition¬† was Eloise Edwards who is 5 years old. Well done Eloise!

Ships Bell from The Alacrity

During August this year we were pleased to host the Bizarre Beachcombing Exhibition. We were very excited to see  what this was all about though some of you may have previously visited the 2013 exhibition on The Alacrity, one of the ships wrecked on our rugged and beautiful coastline.

The exhibition was very interactive, child friendly and quite unique. Lots of flotsam & jetsam and interesting food for thought! Many visitors left saying that they wouldn’t be thinking about plastic in the same way ever again.

All rooms. and the main hall, are available for hire 7 days a week (subject to availability) at very affordable rates. Contact booking@centreofpendeen.co.uk for more information or chat to our friendly volunteer on reception.

A list of activities is posted in reception so if you are a visitor or new to the area, do check this out for an activity or club which might interest you. We have a Timetable in the drop down menu.
