PENDEEN FARMERS' MARKET is here, in the Centre of Pendeen, on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of every month from 10am – 1pm
Pendeen's popular Farmers' Market runs on the first and third Saturdays of each month. It has been going for over 3 years and has established a solid customer base of regulars from Pendeen and around the West Penwith area. Visitors love to come as well and we often see the same people returning year after year.
We specialise in fresh, local, affordable produce and sell home-produced organic and free-range meat and poultry. Pork products include home-made sausages, gammon, terrines, hogs' puddings, pork pies, sausage rolls and bacon - there are also organic beef steak pies, ready cooked or ready for you to bake at home. We also offer Cornish cows', goats' and sheeps' milk cheeses; baked goods - both sweet and savoury - include home-made bread, cakes, tarts, quiches, cupcakes and much more; the jams, jellies and chutneys feature seasonal ingredients including the rare Cornish Kea plum. A local sheep farmer brings along her hand-knits made from the wool from her rare-breed sheep and also perennial plants & herbs while the Community Farm offers organic salad leaves, vegetables and new-laid eggs - plus we even have fresh fish from Newlyn!
The Centre of Pendeen is a modern building with stunning views over the fields to the coast and the wild Atlantic and it makes a pleasant indoor venue, given the unpredictability of our weather here at the western extremity of Cornwall. We have a lively community cafe on market days and both our producers and our customers tell us it is the friendliest market they know, with a true, old-fashioned Cornish community feel. So this is the place to come twice a month to meet the local farmers and producers; buy their fresh produce and have a coffee and some homemade cake and a natter with your friends or family! There is plenty of free parking close by.
