Pendeen Walks for Health are short, fortnightly, interesting walks of a few miles around Pendeen village, led by Paul Young. Walking improves your mood, gives you chance to talk to friends and make new ones and benefits your physical and mental health.
The walks are friendly and open to all, including children and well-behaved dogs on leads. They cover three to five miles of country roads and footpaths, fields and stiles. Sturdy footwear and outdoor clothing are strongly recommended.
Our walks often have a theme, like farming, spring flowers, the breeding season for birds, geology, mining and all the other aspects of our outstandingly beautiful area.
They are not just for residents, and many visitors enjoy learning more on their holiday. The area encompasses a World Heritage Site, Site of Special Scientific Interest, Conservation Area and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so there’s a lot to see and learn.
We have had walkers from Penzance and further afield who enjoy this beautiful, unusual and sometimes mysterious part of Cornwall. Do come and join us. The walks, remarkably, are free.
